Annual General Meeting 2016

Dear MIT Members,

Good morning.

Members are advised that the Annual General Meeting of the Malta Institute of Taxation will be held on  Thursday, 1st December 2016 at 16:00 at the MFSA Conference Hall on the 3rd Floor.

Mr. Marvin Gaerty, Commissioner for Revenue,  will deliver a 20 minute presentation during our AGM.

Members are advised to submit motions for discussion at the AGM and nominations of candidates for election to the Council of the Institute for 2016/2017 by not later than Friday, 25th November 2016. We are also inviting you to suggest amendments to the MIT statute.

Coffee and tea will be provided prior to the meeting.



Kindly note, that if you have been a Member with the Malta Institute of Taxation for more than five (5) years you are eligible to be classified as a Fellow of the Institute as per Statute and By-Laws of the Institute ‘Admission of Member’ (2)

‘An Associate shall be eligible to be classified as a Fellow of the Institute after having completed a period of five years as an Associate of the Institute.  Such Associate shall apply to the Council to be admitted as Fellow and the Council shall accept the application if it is satisfied that the seniority and experience of the member warrants admission as aforesaid: provided that (i) no person shall be admitted as Fellow unless he is thirty years of age: (ii) the period of five years may be shortened or dispensed with the Council in exceptional cases’.

Fellow Certificates will be issued during the next Annual General Meeting which is due to be held on Thursday, 1st December 2016 at the MFSA at 16:00hrs.
