Dear MIT Member,
As you are well aware, the Malta Institute of Taxation is dedicated to the diffusion of knowledge and the equitable practice in the field of taxation in Malta. The Institute is licensed as a Higher Education Institute by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education. The activities of the Institute are mainly educational and academic.
The Institute also regularly makes submissions to Government on tax matters and allied issues. Detailed studies have been prepared for this purpose on several tax and allied questions. Although obviously tax oriented, the Institute feels obliged, in virtue of its position in the social and economic fabric of Malta, to participate in national issues. Discussions are held frequently with the fiscal authorities. On the international stage, the Malta Institute of Taxation is a full member of the Confederation Fiscale Europeenne.
We are pleased to inform you that the Institute is seeking to recruit a Technical Officer to join its team, on a part time basis.
The selected candidate will be:
- Liaising with Council and the Technical Committees of the Institute
· Drafting statements which reflect the opinion of Council
· Actively participating in meetings with other bodies
· Providing additional related support to management and assisting with other ‘ad-hoc’ requirements as and when necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess a law or an accountancy degree and will also be technically sound, and experienced, in taxation legislation and related matters. Candidates must possess satisfactory IT skills particularly in the use of Microsoft Office applications and with excellent communication skills in English and in Maltese. The selected candidate will be dynamic, self-motivated and with the ability to prioritise daily workload while working accurately and efficiently under pressure.
Interested parties are invited to forward their proposal, detailing how they would be able to offer the above mentioned service particularly in terms of the number of available hours each week.
