On 24 August, the Institute was officially registered as a Voluntary Organisation in terms of the Voluntary Organisations Act (Cap 492, Laws of Malta). Article 2 of the Act makes it obligatory for the Institute to have its audited Financial Statements approved by the AGM and submitted to the Office for Voluntary Organisations within 180 days from the financial year end. For this reason, the Council resolved to merge the AGM for 2021 with that of 2022, but at the same time anticipate the AGM for 2022 by 6 months. This one-time transitional arrangement will also imply that during the AGM for 2022, the Council's Treasurer will present the Audited Financial Statements for the financial years ended 31 December 2020 and 31 December 2021.
