The Commissioner for Revenue has notified that further to its communication dated 29th November 2021 regarding the online extension deadline for year of assessment 2021 income tax returns, any penalties incurred for year of assessment 2021 income tax returns which were filed electronically within the stipulated deadline will be waived. The Office of the Commissioner for Revenue is currently liaising with MITA to address this issue.
