Good Governance Series, organised in collaboration with the MSEI

  25-05-02-06

Good Governance: preparing for visits and/or requests for information by the relevant Authorities: Local legislation grants the relevant authorities broad powers to carry out inspections on and request information from subject persons, licensed entities and taxpayers, as the case may be. The MIT in collaboration with the MSEI is offering two webinars which are designed for designated non-financial business providers and corporate service providers, and which will give participants insight into the supervisory and/or investigative processes undertaken by the relevant authorities.

The first session – Preparing for Requests for Information and Inspections by the Office of the Commissioner for Revenue – focuses on the investigative powers of the Commissioner for Revenue (‘CfR’). The Income Tax Management Act and related local legislation endow the CfR with broad investigative powers. This session is aimed at providing an overview of the relevant legislative provisions (both domestic laws and EU Directives) in this field.
