Malta income tax considerations which may arise to employees and employers alike, including inter alia, the implications for non-Maltese nationals exercising their employment in Malta and Maltese nationals exercising their employment elsewhere, as well as registration and compliance requirements;
  2. Potential Malta withholding tax implications, if any;
  3. Double taxation considerations and the application of a double taxation treaty (based on the 2017 OECD Model Tax Convention) on income from employment;
  4. Malta social security considerations; and
  5. Consideration to the guidance issued by the OECD on the application and interpretation of tax treaties as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
