The Responsibilities of Directors and other Officers in Tax matters

The seminar will delve into the duties and obligations of Directors throughout the lifespan of the Company’s life and will also look into the various responsibilities of Directors arising out of the companies act and will also briefly touch upon responsibilities and obligations in terms of the CSP Act. Furthermore, the seminar will discuss the various duties and obligations of directors in the context of income tax and VAT with reference to relevant case law. In conclusion, the tax controversy implications which may arise upon failure to abide by such duties will also be discussed

Dr Christina Scicluna

Dr. Christina Scicluna is an advocate within GANADO Advocates’ Corporate and Fintech teams. She advises a variety of multinational clients on international corporate structures, including the setting up of Maltese entities and redomiciliations of entities, merger and acquisition transactions and assisting clients on corporate governance matters.

Christina has also been involved in the Fintech industry since 2017 and advises a number of clients on legal matters relating to Blockchain, virtual financial assets and distributed ledger technology projects.

Dr Jake Desira

Jake is currently a senior within the Tax and Legal service line at Deloitte Malta. Jake mainly focuses on international tax advisory engagements with a particular focus on tax controversy and dispute resolution.
