Revisiting the Anti-hybrid Rules

The aim of the session is to walk-through the most relevant aspects of the new anti-hybrid rules based on the Maltese experience since their introduction in January 2020. The speaker will discuss the application of the rules in practice, including the new reverse hybrid rule that entered into effect in January 2022, identify the problem areas, present the most commonly raised questions and discuss a number of structures that have been impacted.
