The Senior Tax Analyst will support the Group’s tax function across corporate and indirect tax compliance, international tax analysis, and strategic tax initiatives within a multinational environment. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong technical foundations. Experience with Maltese tax matters is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
• Support corporate direct tax and indirect tax (including VAT and withholding tax) compliance for Group entities, assisting with tax provisioning, reporting processes, and the timely preparation and submission of required tax documentation
•Assist in the compilation of the qualified intermediary submissions to the US Internal Revenue Service
• Analyse tax implications related to the Group’s international operations and provide insights that support strategic business decisions
• Collaborate closely with internal finance teams, external tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to ensure accurate tax compliance and efficient resolution of tax-related matters
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, while contributing to tax optimisation initiatives, compliance improvements, and broader strategic tax projects
• Support internal and external audits by preparing tax documentation, identifying potential tax risks, and assisting in the implementation of practical compliance solutions
WH Partners is currently looking to recruit an experienced VAT Accountant, responsible for managing a diverse client portfolio across multiple industries, including gaming and e-commerce, while ensuring full compliance with VAT legislation.
The Role
• Provide VAT compliance services to clients, including the preparation, review, and submission of VAT returns and related filings, ensuring full compliance with applicable VAT legislation and regulatory requirements;
• Manage other ongoing VAT compliance obligations for clients, including VAT registrations, deregistrations, reconciliations, and correspondence with tax authorities;
• Monitor changes in VAT legislation and guidance, assess their impact on clients, and support the implementation of compliant VAT processes and controls;
• Act as a key contributor within the firm’s indirect tax practice by sharing technical knowledge and practical compliance expertise with Partners and colleagues to support the growth and development of the department and firm;
• Encourage effective communication and information exchange within the firm’s tax practice group and across its international network;
• Consistently promote a collaborative, team-oriented approach in alignment with the firm’s values and quality standards;
• Ensure timely submissions and adherence to deadlines, and provide regular reports and updates to management.
An opportunity has arisen to join the firm as a Junior Tax Accountant, supporting the continued growth and success of the tax compliance team. The role will focus on assisting with routine tax compliance work, developing core technical skills, and gaining practical experience under the guidance of senior team members.
The Role
• Support clients across various industries with the preparation of income tax computations, preparation and submission of Malta income tax returns, tax refund claims, and other relevant tax documentation
• Ensure accurate and timely filing in line with regulatory requirements
• Assist the tax team with tax transactions and provide guidance on proper tax compliance
• Stay up to date with changes in Malta tax legislation and provide informed advice
• Liaise with Malta tax authorities on behalf of clients
