of the Malta Institute of Taxation.

A Member (Associate or Fellow) of the Malta Institute of Taxation is recognised as a “tax professional”
pursuant to and for the purposes of the Schedule to the Income Tax Act (Chapter 123 of the Laws of Malta).

The Malta Institute of Taxation is the professional body for advisers, practitioners and academics operating in the field of taxation in Malta, promoting the highest standards in the tax profession, through the creation of learning opportunities and ongoing professional education, and contributing toward the development of local tax policy, legislation and administrative practices. Persons wishing to be admitted to membership of the Institute must satisfy the relevant eligibility requirements around academic background and/or practical experience in tax matters [view membership eligibility criteria].

Associate and Fellow members of the Malta Institute of Taxation are accorded the status of “Tax Professional” for the purposes of the Schedule to the Income Tax Act (CAP 123 of the Laws of Malta). To verify the status as a Tax Professional, on the basis of Associate or Fellow membership of the Malta Institute of Taxation, of an individual not listed above, send a request on mit@maintax.org stating the individual’s name and surname and the MIT membership number provided to you by said individual.
