CFE Tax Advisors Europe was founded in 1959 and today embraces 30 national organisations from 24 European States,  representing more than 200,000 tax advisers.

ROLE AND MISSION OF CFE TAX ADVISORS EUROPE:

  • safeguarding the professional interests of tax advisers
  • assuring the quality of tax services provided by tax advisers
  • exchange of information about national tax laws
  • maintaining relations with the authorities at national and international levels
  • promoting the co-ordination of national laws governing the profession, and in particular to achieve the protection of each national tax adviser’s title in Europe
  • facilitating co-operation in all areas which are of common interest to tax advisers in Europe, both inside and outside the borders of the European Union.

CHAMPIONING UNIFIED PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR EUROPEAN TAX ADVISERS

The CFE promotes uniform professional standards for tax practitioners. The members of all professional organisations which are members of the CFE are subject to guidelines and professional principles, the objective of which is to ensure that only individuals who satisfy the standards are admitted to the tax profession as qualified professionals.  The overall objectives are the protection of taxpayers interests, the improvement of relations with tax authorities, the achievement of the highest possible standard for professional service with the profession.

WHY IS MIT A MEMBER OF CFE TAX ADVISERS EUROPE?

The Malta Institute of Taxation believes in the mission and objectives of the CFE, and in particular, in its initiatives toward achieving uniform professional standards across the profession.  As an active member, the MIT contributes to the technical submissions of the CFE and represents the Maltese profession in the forum.
