These session are part of the Award in VAT Compliance [MQF Level 5] which commenced on 2 September 2026.

Part 1: Reporting Sales – A box-by-box walkthrough a standard VAT return, focusing on reporting SALES (crossborder supplies, supplies which take place outside Malta, domestic supplies & exports).Includes the reporting of cross-border supplies in a Recapitulative statement and Intrastat.

Part 2: Reporting Purchases – A box-by-box walkthrough a standard VAT return, focusing on reporting PURCHASES (intra-EC purchases, imports, domestic purchases) and reporting INPUT TAX deductions

*The VAT Return lectures will be based on the MIT Guide to Complete a VAT Return.

The Award in VAT Compliance [MQF Level 5] is a higher education course accredited by MFHEA. It is comprised of 6 Lectures. Participants have the option to follow the full programme or any one or more lectures [Lectures 3 and 4 and Lectures 5 and 6 have to be taken as a set]

The lectures forming part of the Award in VAT Compliance are not eligible for the Membership Offer.

Brandon Gatt

Brandon Gatt is a Partner at Zampa Partners, leading the firm’s VAT practice. With over a decade of experience advising local and international clients, Brandon has built a reputation for delivering technically robust and commercially grounded VAT solutions across complex sectors, including Gaming and Financial Services.

He is one of only two Maltese professionals to hold the prestigious EU VAT Expert Degree awarded by the VAT Forum, an international body of indirect tax specialists. A regular lecturer on VAT matters at recognised institutes, Brandon also provides in-house training to established businesses and contributes to the Indirect Tax Committees of both the Malta Institute of Accountants and the Malta Institute of Taxation.
