Family Businesses: corporate and tax considerations

During this session the speaker intends to provide the participants with an overview of the requirements set out in the Family Business Act, Chapter 565 of the laws of Malta (the Act) regulating family businesses, their governance and the transfer of family businesses from one generation to the next. The speaker will also discuss the benefits, incentives, and schemes available in terms of the Act and any other relevant legislation ancillary thereto, such as certain subsidiary legislation related to the Malta Enterprise Act and the Duty on Documents and Transfers Act, touching upon what the said benefits intend to facilitate and aim to achieve amongst family businesses.

  • •An understanding of the Grants and Incentives available to Family Businesses.
  • •An understanding of certain stamp duty benefits available to Family Businesses.
