Tax Compliance Series 1 – Corporate Tax Basics

This session will consist of a number of practical examples concerning the computation of chargeable income and the preparation of the relevant sections of the corporate tax return. The topics to be covered include capital allowances, other deductions, the interest limitation rule, exemptions, tax accounting and the taxation of rental income.

The Tax Compliance Series is comprised of 4 workshops (5 sessions), each of which will focus on specific aspects of tax reporting:
  • Workshop 1: Corporate Tax Basics (this workshop)
  • Workshop 2: Corporate Tax Returns – 2 sessions
  • Workshop 3: Capital Gains & Duty
  • Workshop 4: Fiscal Consolidation

The Series are not eligible for the MIT Membership Offer.

Thomas Zammit

Thomas is a senior manager at KPMG Malta. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy and Public Policy and a Master in Accountancy at the University of Malta, followed by an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Thomas specializes in corporate income tax whereby he assists local and international clients from various industries both from an advisory and a compliance perspective.
