‘Get Qualified’ Scheme extended

The Deductions and Tax Credits (Relevant Qualifications for Industry) Rules (S.L. 123.107) have been revised (LN 283 of 2020), effectively extending the application of the rules to relevant educational courses commencing before 31 December 2023.

The Deductions and Tax Credits (Relevant Qualifications for Industry) Rules (S.L. 123.107) set out the parameters for the application of the Get Qualified Scheme, an incentive which applies to individuals following a course of studies leading to a certification, diploma, degree or post-graduate degree. Upon completion of the course, such individuals benefit from a tax credit enabling them to recover part of the costs incurred.

This upcoming academic year (2020/2021) the Malta Institute of Taxation will once again be running the MIT Course on Taxation (Professional Certificate in Taxation – MQF Level 6) and the MIT Course on Tax Compliance (Foundation Course in Taxation – MQF Level 5). Both courses are approved courses under the GET QUALIFIED scheme.
Information about these courses can be viewed here.
