MIT AGM held on 26th February 2021

The Annual General Meeting of the Malta Institute of Taxation was held online on 26th February 2021.

The event commenced with the launch of the MIT Guide to Completing a VAT return, a 40-page guide which provides a detailed analysis of the standard VAT return, with reporting examples and the MIT’s views on certain aspects of reporting in the VAT Return. The Chief Technical Officer of the Institute presented an overview of the key features of the Guide, and discussed some of the reporting issues addressed therein. The MIT Guide to Completing a VAT Return will be available for MIT Members in the Members Area of the MIT website.

The President of the MIT, Conrad Cassar Torregiani, opened the AGM with a reflection on the events of 2020 and their impact on the Institute, explaining that, notwithstanding the challenges that 2020 has presented, it was a busy and productive year for the Institute. An overview of the various initiatives undertaken by the MIT in 2020 was given by the President of the MIT and the chairpersons of the technical and educational committees of the Institute.

The AGM was concluded with the confirmation of the re-election of the members seeking election to the Council of the MIT.
