Findings following the 2026 CRS/FATCA Self-Compliance Questionnaire Exercise

Further to a compliance exercise conducted by the Malta Tax & Customs Administration during the first quarter of 2026, under the Cooperation with other Jurisdictions on Tax Matters Regulations, which give effect to the CRS and FATCA framework in Malta, the MTCA has published a circular outlining the findings.

The circular provides an overview of key observations arising from the Self-Compliance Questionnaire responses, and is addressed to Financial Institutions within the scope of CRS and/or FATCA.
