Submission of Annual Returns and Financial Statements: announcement by MBR

The Malta Business Registry has announced that if a company is effected by the COVID-19 situation and the filing of the annual return and/or financial statements falls within the period of 23.03.2020 and 31.05.2020, no late-filing penalty will be imposed, provided that the said annual return/financial statements are filed with the Registrar by 31.07.2020.

Furthermore, a company which has other additional notifications to submit to the Registrar but is unable to do so in view of COVID-19, is urged to inform the MBR by email on info@mbr.mt, stating the name and registration number of the company, the type of notification/return (eg. Form T) and the reasons why such return cannot be filed. This email must be sent within the notification period allowed by law. Otherwise, no revision of penalties will be considered.
