Larken Lee Apap
Larken Apap is a Senior Analyst within the Malta Tax and Customs Administration, currently forming part of the VAT Legal, Technical, Policy and International Relations Section. He is actively involved in a wide range of functions including the interpretation, application, and implementation of VAT legislation, addressing complex technical queries, and contributing to the development of domestic VAT policy.
As part of his role, Larken also supports Malta’s participation in EU-level discussions and technical working groups, contributing to the formulation of positions on VAT matters within international fora. His work includes the drafting of technical guidance, training of staff, and advising on cross-border VAT issues in line with EU legislative developments.
Before joining the public sector, Larken held various roles within the private sector, progressing from accounts and compliance-focused positions to senior advisory roles. Larken holds a Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Malta, as well as the MIT Course on Taxation.
